Meet Veronika Pak
Dr. Veronika Pak was born and raised in Alberta, where her love of nature and animals began early. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Victoria before pursuing her veterinary degree with distinction at the University of Veterinary Science in Budapest, Hungary. Studying alongside classmates from around the world broadened her perspective on both life and veterinary medicine.
After gaining experience in wildlife, feedlot, and zoo medicine during her training, Veronika spent nearly a decade in small animal practice in Nelson, BC. She is dedicated to compassionate, thorough care and values close collaboration with clients to create personalized treatment plans.
Veronika is certified in Veterinary Acupuncture and Canine Rehabilitation through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute, one of the few organizations recognized by the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia. She is passionate about these integrative therapies, which help restore balance, relieve pain, and improve her patients’ quality of life. Acupuncture supports the nervous and immune systems, while rehabilitation enhances strength, mobility, and comfort. Veronika is also Fear Free certified, ensuring every patient’s comfort and emotional well-being are prioritized.
After several years in emergency and rehabilitation practice in Okotoks, Veronika returned to Nelson in 2025, where she lives with her two sons and their pets. Outside of work, she’s a devoted hockey mom, runner, cyclist, and Jiu Jitsu enthusiast who enjoys camping, live music, and lifelong learning.
