When the surgery is over, the animal is carefully moved to a comfortable cage with a clean towel to rest. When the patient has fully recovered from the surgery, it can be discharged from the clinic, and the client can take the pet home. Pets that have been neutered or spayed are usually kept confined in the hospital for 12-48 hours, depending on the nature of the operation.
